Sometimes I find flowers in trash cans, on the side of the road, or I can rescue them using an app that stores in Switzerland use to donate “expired” products for a small fee.

Where florists and garden centers no longer see the potential of flowers and plants, I've only just begun. I work exclusively with dried ingredients. Whether I hang them upside down to dehydrate, place them in silica gel (small, reusable sand that keeps moisture out), or press them between books, it makes me happy to give these beautiful things a second life.
All the flowers and plants I use for my jewelry are either picked from my mother's garden or are "waste." I also buy some flowers from my local florist if I can't get them anywhere else (e.g., California poppies).
